Contrast

from Outmoded - Vintage SGX by SGX

about

I was immensely proud of this one at the time and I still like it. I went after the huge buildup/bustout/climax idea and captured it better than I had before. I managed to make a perfectly good climax then make a climax larger than that soon after. The huge build then drastic cut-off in the middle of the song was inspired by a song by BT called "Firewater" off of his album ESCM. The song gets incredibly intense and then drastically cuts into a very quiet, really nice, almost lullaby-like arrangement of the previous section. I dug the Contrast between the two parts. I remember a friend of Travis' and mine playing it in his car and actually saying it was a tight track (he seemed pretty honest too!). That felt good. And then he played Zombie Nation as he drove off. Oohhwoahwoah-Oooh-Oh!
